Do we eat ugly fish

I found this article at an interesting website called Straight Dope (which is now on my favorites) but do we really care whether we eat ugly fish or not? Although even I would draw the line at ordering something called the Slimehead...

Then again do fish care whether they eat ugly people?

  2. I don't think big fish care if they eat ugly humans.. maybe this is time for the obligatory 'it's on the inside that counts'

  5. is that a coelacanth? They are not ugly, anyway!

but now that you mention it, the fish that we eat are generally not very ugly. maybe there is a correlation between taste and attractiveness? haha...

  7. I refuse to eat ugly fish. And why? Because I can. I do what I want.

I freely admit enjoying lamb and veal because baby animals are SO cute! The more adorable the animal prior to slaughter the better they taste in a light cream sauce.

  8. Who am I fooling. I love small animals. I would never eat a baby animal. Why, it would be like a piece of my own soul.

Except for lamb. My Greek ancestry will not free me of my need for rare lamb. Roasted with fresh oregano and garlic. With lemon squeezed on near the end. And potatoes. Roasted with the lamb.

    Yeah, baby, yeah!!!

But I am ambivalent about my craving. Perhaps this is how vampires feel. Greek vampires, in any event.

  11. I just learned that fish have feelings. I'm not sure how that will effect my desire to eat them.
