I found this article at an interesting website called Straight Dope (which is now on my favorites) but do we really care whether we eat ugly fish or not? Although even I would draw the line at ordering something called the Slimehead...
Then again do fish care whether they eat ugly people?

I don't think big fish care if they eat ugly humans.. maybe this is time for the obligatory 'it's on the inside that counts'
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Jules Winfield remarking that personality goes a long way...

is that a coelacanth? They are not ugly, anyway!
ReplyDeletebut now that you mention it, the fish that we eat are generally not very ugly. maybe there is a correlation between taste and attractiveness? haha...

ReplyDeleteI refuse to eat ugly fish. And why? Because I can. I do what I want.
ReplyDeleteI freely admit enjoying lamb and veal because baby animals are SO cute! The more adorable the animal prior to slaughter the better they taste in a light cream sauce.
Who am I fooling. I love small animals. I would never eat a baby animal. Why, it would be like a piece of my own soul.
ReplyDeleteExcept for lamb. My Greek ancestry will not free me of my need for rare lamb. Roasted with fresh oregano and garlic. With lemon squeezed on near the end. And potatoes. Roasted with the lamb.
Yeah, baby, yeah!!!
But I am ambivalent about my craving. Perhaps this is how vampires feel. Greek vampires, in any event.
the bible says, there will be a time where wheter you like it or not we will be eating each other.. so lucky ugly fish you'll be happy swimming down the sea. probably looking right up at us, and saying you wanna pieceof this??? lol suckers!!
ReplyDeleteThe Bible says that? Cool!
ReplyDeleteI just learned that fish have feelings. I'm not sure how that will effect my desire to eat them.
